Subway tile FAQ
What is so great about porcelain?
Porcelain is extremely durable and is recommended for commercial use. Conventional glazed tiles often end up spalling.
What is the lead time?
Unless there is a stock outage our tiles are on hand and ready to ship.
What does it cost to ship?
Call us and we'll give a specific quote for your shipping location. Note: commercial sites are a little more affordable to ship to than residences.
What are some of the hex tile specs?
Thickness is about 5/32 inch. That is between 1/8 and 3/16. They are one inch from parallel side to parallel side. Spacing between tiles is roughly 1/16 inch.
Can I make a pattern by mixing black and white hex tiles?
Yes, this is typically done by peeling a white tile off the mesh and replacing it with a black tile.
Will these match my existing tiles?
Probably not. Your best bet is to get a sample and compare them.
There are many questions that can come up when you are planning to install subway or hexagon tiles. For example, how does one deal with the edge of the room since the edge of a hex tile sheet is not linear? It turns out that there are special tiles for that. Also, going around corner may seem tricky. And how does one cope with exposed edges? Your best bet is to give us a call and we can help spec out your situation. Prepare to spend a little time on the phone and have some measurements handy.
